A wet-pendulum test is the usual AS 4663 method for existing floors. The pendulum gives a British Pendulum Number that maps to a P classification. A fail means that P class is below the handbook or NCC class for the area — not that the tester “failed the floor” as a legal finding. Send the failed slip report and we will name the gap.

HB 198:2014 Table 3B recommends P5 for commercial kitchens and undercover loading docks. We do not invent a higher or lower class to make the quote easier.
Table 3B recommends P3 for bathrooms and ensuites in hospitals and aged-care facilities, and P2 for wards and corridors. A hospital bathroom is not specified as P5 in that table.
